RUMOURS OF THE QUEEN'S ECLIPSE 1996
This incredibly powerful image immediately attacks the senses and is another great example of Elliott pulling out all the stops and pushing back the frontiers of visual art. 20 years on the early computer works are proving to be nonetheless powerful and completely timeless. Elliott now creates in a very different way to when he began. Gone are the meticulously planned works, as Elliott now understands that this approach is philosophically not as strong as creating a dynamic and creatively working through an image. He literally now creates on-the-fly, preferring to work without preconceptions. He still knows exactly what he wants, he simply arrives there via a different route.
